The purpose of the Youth Multimedia Training Program (YMTP) is to equip young professionals in the media, especially news photographers, video journalists, producers, and journalists, with skills that will allow them to be more effective, using new technology, innovation, multimedia and social media.
Technology, multimedia and a very active social media sphere dominate the current global activities. Understanding how to effectively utilize multimedia, information technology, telecommunications and social media is almost mandatory for any entities wanting to succeed in a competitive market. Even more importantly, recent history has shown us many examples of the power these tools have given the common man to spur national dialogue and voice opinions otherwise silenced.
YMTP is a four week-long, intensive training program designed in a comprehensive and pragmatic approach, that has been tailor-made to fit the social, economic and cultural context of the participants’ environment. The program includes technical training, as well as lessons imparted to participants by real world practitioners. These professional have a unique and impressive experiences, which give them a truly special and relatable position to teach eager young professionals who will face many of the same challenges in their own careers. The program will allow participating professionals to learn how to better multitask, produce high quality work, and learn to manage the pressures of producing in a fast pace field.
